Debbi J. Smith (Livingston) VIEW PROFILE

Debbi J. Smith (Livingston)

Our beloved Debra Jean Smith Livingston passed away January 27, 2024, at the age of 72 under the loving care of her family in Salt Lake City, Utah. Debbi was born to Russel Lynn and Lois Robb Smith on July 5, 1951, in Salt Lake City, Utah. While growing up she loved spending time with her 3 brothers, aunts, uncles and cousins on the family farm in Duchesne, Utah. She was raised in Sugarhouse, graduated from Highland High School in 1969, and graduated from Steven's Henager Business College.

Debbi and Roger Alan Livingston were married on August 26, 1971, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised five children and love doting on their 13 grandchildren. Debbi loved spending time with her children in classrooms, on field trips, teaching music and as PTA president. She loved music and singing and enjoyed being part of the A'Cappella choir at Highland High School. She taught her children to love music; nothing brought her greater joy than watching her children and grandchildren perform be it singing, dancing, sports or theater.

Once her children were raised and she had a little more time she was part of the Mountain Jubilee women's barbershop choir, performing and competing around the United States. She even found time to be in a couple community theater productions and loved getting to share the stage with her family.

Debbi and Roger have lived in the East Millcreek area for over 44 years and have many precious memories and friends. Debbi loved serving in the Primary and Young Women's organizations and as Relief Society President where she developed a great love for all the sisters in the ward. She cherished her time serving an inner-city mission with Roger and had a special love and bond with those she served. She never doubted the truthfulness of the Gospel and her faith is one her gifts and the greatest legacy to leave her family.

Debbi is survived by husband Roger, children Amy Lyn Livingston, Melisa Ayn Omer (Ryan Craig), Kimberly Jean Christensen (Andrew Michael), Cameron Alan Livingston (Bethany Lynne), her 13 grandchildren Lindsay Jean Omer, Joshua Ryan Omer, Emily Jane Omer, Morgan Ayn Omer, Hadley Grace Omer, Tanner Michael Christensen, Cannon Roger Christensen, Maxwell Andrew Christensen, Henry Davis Christensen, Holland Elle Christensen, Penrose Jean Christensen, Zackary Tyler Livingston, Jordan Bea Livingston, and her siblings Howard Smith, Cory Smith, and Terry Smith. I believe my social circle in 1968 had nicknamed Debra "Squeege".  She was dating the rhythm guitar player in our garage band and I was dating Jean Tingy  (class of 68) who lived down the street from Debra.

Spent lots of time "hanging out" on their street, lots of good memories.  One bad memory was the time I tried to peel out and blew up the differention in the family car (took me forever to pay that off)

Debra could be cheeky and sassy, just enought to be fun but she was also a good friend to me when I had some hard times back then!

Interesting that Jean Tingy passed away just this week,  Perhaps they have run into each other on the other side.   If so hope they are enjoying the reunion!
