Bill died February 2, 2024 from complications caused by COPD and Pneumonia.
William (Bill) Donald Arthur Breeman, age 73 of Sandy Utah, due to complications caused by COPD and Pneumonia, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, our beloved Husband, Father, Son, Grandpa and Friend earned his angel wings and reunited with his beloved wife, parents and many other loved ones.
He was born on December 2, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William Jacob Breeman and Elisabeth Van Vliet. He attended Highland High School and graduated in 1969.
On November 28, 1986, he married Peggy Ann Ruesch Breeman. They were sealed in the Jordan River Temple on November 17, 2007. He was a beloved husband to Peggy, a devoted father to Michael, a second dad to Cassi, and a loving grandpa to Emma, Deacon, and Cole.
He was a devoted and loyal employee and worked for Continental Steel Corporation for 36 years. Bill built and designed a lot of the power sub stations located throughout all of Utah, and the surrounding states. Through his many years of service, Bill also built many friendships along the way.
Bill was a family man. He was always looking for fun family activities to do together. When Michael was young, he started him out in BMX Bike racing and was his biggest cheerleader and coach traveling to different states to watch him race. He was very involved in all of Michael’s sports activities from BMX to Football, Basketball and Hockey, which he then continued to coach and watch his grandkids with their sports activities.
Bill was an avid shotgun shooter. His favorite time of year was the duck hunt. He spent many years sharing his passion of guns and hunting with his son Michael and other friends.
Bill was an outdoorsman. He loved camping, fishing and hunting. He was involved greatly in the scouting program. Bill was also a handyman. You name it and he could fix it. He had a solution for everything. He was a thinker and always planned ahead. Bill loved life and was so full of life even in his difficult last days. He loved to read and study and do anything he could do. He was self taught in many interests and projects to increase his knowledge.
Bill’s favorite place to go on vacation was Yellowstone. He took his family there often and was always looking forward to going back.
He is survived by his son Michael Breeman (Cassi), three grandchildren: Emma, Deacon, and Cole. His in-laws: Randy & Cindy, Rachell & Ed, Anita & Eric & many nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Peggy and parents: William Jacob Breeman and Elisabeth Van Vliet Breeman Booms.
The family would like to express immense gratitude and appreciation for the outpouring of heartfelt love, kindness, support and service shown during this difficult time. Thank you to all of his doctors, friends and neighbors the last few years, and a special thank you to Sister-in-law, Rachell Ruesch Green for being with him and Peggy through their final days on earth, and the best support for Michael, Cassi, and their children.
Dad/Grandpa, we will miss your talks, teachings, guidance, love, inspiration, and overall, just being with you. Please continue to watch over us and guide us through these hard times. We love you more than you’ll ever know.
A viewing for Bill will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 from 6 PM to 8 PM and Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1050 E. Galena Dr., Sandy, UT 84094 followed by a funeral service at 11 AM.
