Stanley Williams

 The yearbook picture of Stan is from the 1968 yearbook. Stan died in a private plane crash on September 9, 1991. The following obituary was published September 15, 1991 in the Deseret News.

Stan Kent Williams, 40, died September 6, 1991 of injuries sustained in an airplane accident.

Born December 4, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ray and Dorraine Farnsworth Williams. He married Denice Gillman on January 10, 1981.He enjoyed life, his family and friends. He enjoyed golfing, flying and boating.

Survived by his wife, Denice, three children, Lon, Bryan, and Kimberly, parents, sister: Judy Fishler, all of SLC, brother: Craig Williams, Tampa, Florida and many friends.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 1991 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive, where friends may call from 12:30-2:00 p.m. prior services. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Utah Wing of the Civil Air Patrol, 640 North, 2360 West, SLC, Ut. 84116.

The following is a report from the National Transportation Safety Board:

During a cross country flight to Bullfrog Basin, the pilot reported that he was turning around to return to his departure point (SLC) because of weather conditions that did not permit continued flight under VFR conditions.  The pilot last reported at 10,500 feet and between layers.  The wreckage was located at 10,800 feet in mountainous terrain that rose to 11,000 feet.
