Scott died May 2, 2014 from a stroke. This obituary was was published by Walker Sanders funeral home.

Scott Longson returned to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on May 2, 2014 due to complications from a stroke.

So many of his smiles, first and foremost, began with his wife Sherry, and second his 14 grandchildren whom he loved spending time with.

Scott was born April 10, 1951 in Salt Lake City. He graduated from Highland high school in 1969 and then served a mission to England. He married his sweetheart Sherry on October 9, 1973 in the Salt Lake Temple.

He served in and loved the church his whole life. He spent most of his professional life working as an accountant. In his spare time he loved to golf with his son Matt and fish with his grandsons.

At the time of his death, he was serving in the bishopric of the 101st Young Single Adult Provo Ward. He has served in the Bishopric of the Northridge 2nd Ward.

He was proceeded in death by his son-in-law Ryan and his parents. He is survived by his wife Sherry, his 4 children Holly (Sloan), Jen (Brandon), Cami (Jer), Matt (Lindsay) and his 14 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 7, 2014 at 11:00 am at Steeplechase Chapel (1780 N 165 E, Orem). A viewing will be held before the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 am.

The viewing will be held at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 6:00 to 7:30pm. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.walkersanderson.com.
