Soon after graduation I enlisted in the Army. I served one tour as a Special Forces advisor to the Cambodian Army. Two of my Company Commanders were college professors and several officers were teachers. Pol Pot would have targeted them for the Killing Fields. I love the Cambodian people and look forward to seeing my brothers in arms again soon.
I met my wife Ginny, a 1970 graduate from Kearns, about a year after my discharge from the army and married Feb. 1, 1974.
I worked for a German and Swiss global logistics company. I had the opportunity to travel internationally and our family relocated to Miami and Denver during my career.
The obvious answer would be that the school assemblies were my favorite...haha
Graduation ceremony for a battalion of Cambodians. A UPI reporter Joe Galloway took the picture. He wrote the book We Were Soldiers Once and Young. This was used in the Mel Gibson movie We Were Soldiers.
